The Jared Box Project

The Jared Box Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering smiles, laughter, and hope to children in hospitals across the United States. Established in 2001 by the children of Our Lady of Victory School in State College, Pennsylvania, the project honors the memory of their classmate, Jared, who bravely battled cancer.

A Jared Box is a plastic, shoebox-sized container filled with small gifts, toys, games, crayons, coloring books, and fun activities, each tailored to a specific age and gender. These boxes are designed to provide a special, fun diversion for young patients during their hospital experience.

Over the past two decades, the project has expanded significantly, with Jared Boxes being made in all 50 states and delivered to children in more than 500 hospitals. To date, over one million Jared Boxes have been created, bringing joy to countless young patients nationwide.

The Jared Box Project continues to make a meaningful impact by brightening the days of hospitalized children and providing them with a tangible expression of care and support.
