Marshmallow’s Hope is a nonprofit mental health organization dedicated to supporting youth and families affected by depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and suicidal thoughts. Founded in memory of 14-year-old Zachary Ryan Birkholz, the organization was created to ensure that no child suffers in silence and that every young person has access to compassionate, life-changing care.
Its mission is to provide hope, healing, and accessible mental health resources for those facing emotional challenges and crises. Marshmallow’s Hope offers trauma-informed counseling, intensive outpatient therapy, therapeutic mentorship, parent education, and transportation assistance to help remove barriers to care.
Guided by a team of experienced mental health professionals, the organization provides personalized support that empowers individuals and families throughout their healing journey. Beyond clinical services, Marshmallow’s Hope is committed to raising awareness, reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, and encouraging open conversations about emotional well-being.
At its core, Marshmallow’s Hope is driven by the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and hopeful, and that timely intervention can save lives.
