There are different types of conference badge ribbons used for different purposes. The type of identifier you see at just about all important events is the kind that is used to indicate oneself or position at a function.
Attend any conference, convention, meeting, trade show or other social function and you will see attendees proudly displaying their name badge, which is securely fastened to their person via a neck wallet, lanyard or pinned to their lapel. While anchored to the back of the name badges, ribbons can help identify you to others with titles such as Exhibitor, Chairperson, Event Planner or Sponsor. Conference and event ribbons are stackable allowing the user to wear multiple titles at one time, and thus, making them feel even more important!
It’s always fun to think outside of the box and come up with unique situations where personalizing your ‘badge hardware’ can make an event much more interesting and amusing. Think about the last wedding you attended. You were most likely invited as a guest of the bride or the groom. As you patiently wait at the bar for your next cocktail you survey the room and think to yourself – “”I wonder who that person is?”” Well one sure way to take the guessing out of the game is to supply each guest with his/her own name tag with a personalized ribbon attached. Wouldn’t it be nice to know that Lois Smith is the grandmother of the bride or that Ashley Atkins is the sister of the groom? It’s a great way to break the ice and stop those awkward stares or uncomfortable moments when you don’t know what to say.

Stacking your personalized ribbons for badges is also an effective way to identify your roll at an event. One fun and unique way, which happens to be one of my personal favorites, was one that I saw for a bachelor party. Identifying the bachelor and his buddies is a sure fire way to put your party in high gear. And a great way for your office friends to remember your long lost college buddy.
Not only are they inexpensive, but event ribbons come in both horizontal and vertical designs depending on what your personal needs are. In addition, you can choose from different color foil imprints or full color imprints. Sometimes blank ribbons are used to identify ranks or groups by color. Fundraisers are also a common place to see promotional ribbons. For example a 5K cancer run/walk might use Awareness ribbons to identify the type of cancer they are supporting – Pink – Breast Cancer, Teal – Ovarian Cancer, Blue – Prostate Cancer or Green – Kidney Cancer.
Create your own title or choose from the 100’s in stock. Remember, don’t take this too seriously. Have fun with conversation titles such as Bored Member, Officially Something, Diva or Know it All. Badge ribbons are a very effective way to introduce yourself to a group of strangers without saying a word. Being able to stack ribbons with the simple step of peeling off the adhesive backing makes any event a success!
