A Friend’s House

A Friend’s House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides a safe and nurturing environment for children and youth in crisis. Since its establishment in 1998, the facility has welcomed over 3,000 children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or abandonment.

Operating both as an emergency shelter and a group home, A Friend’s House collaborates with the Department of Family and Children Services to develop individualized permanency plans for each child, aiming for family reunification or appropriate foster placements. The organization primarily serves teenagers and offers a range of services, including counseling, medical care, academic support, and recreational activities.

The mission of A Friend’s House is to ensure that all youth have access to a loving, caring, and safe environment, regardless of their past circumstances. Through comprehensive support and a commitment to healing, the organization strives to be the village that raises and empowers each child.
