Guiding Paws and People is a nonprofit crisis resource center dedicated to empowering individuals of all ages — and their pets — to overcome conflict and crisis. As Bell County’s only crisis resource center supporting pets and people together, the organization fills a unique and critical gap in the community.
Their mission is to create safer communities by providing essential resources and support to individuals and their pets, whether by assisting those facing homelessness, helping families in crisis, providing financial aid for veterinary care, or empowering victims of abuse.
Guiding Paws and People operates on the belief that pets are family, and no one should have to choose between getting help and keeping their animal companion. Their services span four key areas: empowering support and advocacy, pet advocacy and assistance, educational and skills development, and crisis intervention and temporary assistance. With a deeply personal story behind every service they offer, Guiding Paws and People stands as a compassionate and innovative force for good in the communities they serve.
