The Kindness Objective (TKO) is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to combatting bullying and cruelty in schools, workplaces and communities, by promoting love and empathy. Each individual in need, whether human or animal, presents an opportunity to contribute to a kinder, safer world.
TKO offers workshops that allow children to anonymously share their life struggles with other children, which leads to understanding and compassion. Each child that completes a workshop is honored by the mayor and given an award. This helps kids build confidence, and those who are confident are less likely to tear others down.
TKO also holds events for kids who are being bullied or struggling to make friends. These events allow children to meet other children from all walks of life, cultivate friendships and have a friend to talk to who understands what they are going through.
In addition, TKO recognizes the need to be kind, but we also promote standing up for yourself and others. TKO partners with local karate and MMA businesses to offer free self-defense classes for those who are being bullied and don’t know how to defend themselves. Knowing that you can protect yourself if someone is trying to harm you gives children the confidence they need to stand up for themselves, as opposed to being afraid which just makes them a bigger target for bullying.
