The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp

The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing “a different kind of healing” for children with serious illnesses and their families. Founded in 1988 by actor and philanthropist Paul Newman, the camp was created to give children facing medical challenges the opportunity to simply be kids, have fun, and build lasting friendships.

The organization offers year-round programs free of charge thanks to the support of donors, volunteers, and community partners. Its programs include traditional summer camp experiences, family camps, hospital outreach initiatives, and community-based events designed to bring joy, connection, and emotional support to children and families. The camp is specially designed to accommodate children with serious medical conditions, allowing them to safely participate in activities such as boating, arts and crafts, swimming, archery, and outdoor adventures.

The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp also provides support programs for parents, caregivers, siblings, and teens, recognizing the importance of caring for the entire family. As part of the SeriousFun Children’s Network, the organization is connected to a global community of camps serving children with serious illnesses around the world. At its core, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is committed to creating an inclusive, compassionate environment where children can find laughter, confidence, friendship, and hope beyond their diagnosis.
